I’ve always had a love affair with food, it’s been a love hate relationship. I love the way it tastes and feels, but I hate the pound it adds to my hips, and waist, and thighs. Since I hit puberty I feel as though I’ve been on a never-ending yoyo diet. My sister once told me that she wanted to be soo skinny that all her bones showed, and that devastated me. What I’ve learned is that whether you’re 100 pounds or 200 pounds, we still all feel the same way about our bodies. If only I could just lose a little here or there, if only I could just fit into those jeans, I wish I looked like her. I’ve learned that I want to look like me, and that I can love that. I’ve learned that I can eat the foods I love, by just cooking them in a healthier way. And I’ve learned that a well deserved cheat day every now and again never hurt anyone.
